The "Combi is the special version for Denmark . You
bought is as a delivery van and after a certain period of time you could
buy a set of sidewindows to make it like a normal Caravan, all to have a
lower fee of taxes.

(Has been told me, would be nice to hear from a Dane
who was aktive in those days, if that is correct.)

The history from Ake Unsgaard is correct. In 1957 the government decided to make it possible for people to buy Caravanīs without side windows in the back to a lower registration fee (tax), and until 1970 it was possible.

The cars were mainly used at workdays as vans, but as family cars in the weekend.

The number plates were a mix between a yellow plates for vans and a black plates for cars and called parrot plates in daily speech, because it was two-coloured.

 After 5 years ownership of a car the government allowed you to install side windows in the back, get black plates and pay a minimum extra registration fee.
