The "Combi is the special
version for Denmark . You
bought is as a delivery van and after a certain period of time you could
buy a set of sidewindows to make it like a normal Caravan, all to have a
lower fee of taxes.
(Has been told me, would be
nice to hear from a Dane
who was aktive in those days, if that is correct.)
If you know the answer please mail to opelrekordp1@gmail

The history from Ake Unsgaard is correct. In 1957 the government decided to make it possible for people to buy Caravanīs without side windows in the back to a lower registration fee (tax), and until 1970 it was possible.
The cars were mainly used at workdays as vans, but as family cars in the weekend.
The number plates were a mix between a yellow plates for vans and a black plates for cars and called parrot plates in daily speech, because it was two-coloured.
After 5 years ownership of a car the government allowed you to install side windows in the back, get black plates and pay a minimum extra registration fee.
